The Harvest: Artificial Inoculation & Distillation
We provide Tripura agarwood and oud oil primarily made by harvesting through Artificial Inoculation. Since natural infection occurs in only 7–10% of trees and takes decades, farmers actively stimulate the process in trees aged 6 to 8 years. This involves:
- Drilling and Wounding: Creating physical holes or cuts in the tree trunk.
- Fungal Inoculation: Injecting specific fungal cultures or chemical/biological agents into the wounds. This mimics natural stress, forcing the tree to produce the valuable dark resin (agarwood) within a few years rather than decades.
The harvested agarwood is then hydro-distilled in our distillation plants in Tripura to produce authentic, high-quality oud oil.
